Steamed Tofu Anchovy

Anchovy and tofu are good sources of calcium. This recipe is good if you wanna lose weight because the cooking is without frying. It's also good if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

However, if you're with kidney stones due to impaired absorption of calcium, you'd limit the consumption of this food.


300 g of anchovies
1 tofu, pureed
3 egg whites
1 handful of basil leaves
3 tbsp of lime juice
2 stalks of lemongrass, finely sliced
6 bay leaves, sliced
Banana leaves
10 shallots
8 cloves of garlic
2 cm turmeric, roasted
2 tsp of shrimp paste, roasted
4 red chilies

How to make:

Mash shallots, garlic, turmeric, shrimp paste, and chilies as a seasoning.
Mix anchovies and lime juice.
Let stand for 10 minutes.
Mix tofu, anchovies, mashed seasoning, egg whites, basil leaves, lemongrass, bay leaves, salt, and sugar.
Stir well.
Divide the dough into 20 pieces.
Take one piece of the dough.
Wrap with banana leaves, then pin with a stick.
Invertedly bake in oven.
