Stimulant Food for Brain

Seeing kids busy every day to do homework and study for a retrial, many parents sought to brain performance of their children be bright, highly concentrated, and having good memory and digestibility.

Dr. Ang Poon Liat, a senior consultant of child health and disease of Pediatric Center, Thomson Medical Center, Singapore, saw the person's intelligence is 20% influenced by genetic elements; the rest was of the daily food intake.

He said there were eight stimulant foods for brain that should be part of children's diet as well as useful for physical health in later life.

* Sea fish:

Marine fish is a source of omega-3. Omega-3 fatty acids can increase the activity of neurotransmitters which help brain cells communicate with other brain cells effectively so that brain function is optimal.

* Eggs:

Egg yolk is rich in protein, also high in choline, part of the vitamin B which can help improve memory.

* Nuts:

It contains vitamin E which has antioxidant properties reliable to protect brain cell membranes against free radicals.

* Colored vegetables:

Vegetables are rich in antioxidants that will keep brain cells healthy. Choose colorful vegetables in order to get a series of antioxidants which can also prevent cancer.

* Rice and wheat which remain the husk:

Brown rice and oats are examples of rice and wheat which remain the husk rich in vitamin B. Both have high fiber thereby releasing glucose gradually due to high glucose levels will make energetic child but then quickly exhausted. The change of mood is certainly not good for children.

* Berries:

This fruit is rich in vitamin C which can improve memory.

* Legumes:

The contents of protein and complex carbohydrates produce energy good for stimulating the brain. The protein is needed to produce nucleic acid of brain cells.

* Yogurt:

It's a source of protein and vitamins B and D very important for the growth of brain tissue and neurotransmitters.
