Bean Sprouts

Sprouts are from seeds such as green beans and soybeans. Form of sprouts is obtained after processing the seeds for a few days. When compared with seeds, sprouts are more nutritious. Sprout protein is higher than the original the seed protein. It happened because during the germination process, it occurs formation of essential amino acids, the building blocks of protein.

The process of germination improves the digestibility because germination is a catabolic process that provides essential nutrients for plant growth.

Nutrient contents found on sprouts are vitamins A, B complex, C, E, and minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, fiber, folate, amino acids, and proteins.

Research in the U.S. found that men who ate a lot of foods that contain coumetarol found on sprouts, they rarely got prostate cancer.

Saponins on sprouts can reduce level of "bad" cholesterol LDL without disturbing the content of HDL, the "good" cholesterol. Thus, the risk of heart attack drops.

Coumetarol content, a natural estrogen, functions similarly to synthetic estrogen but better because it has no side effects. Estrogen in the sprouts may increase bone density, bone structure, and prevent bone loss.

Sprouts are rich in antioxidants that fortify the body from free radicals, DNA cells destroyer. Likewise, the saponin content can boost the immune system.

Vitamin E contained in sprouts can help improve fertility in women, help prevent breast cancer, symptoms of PMS, the premenopausal, and distrubances due to menopause. As a source of antioxidants, sprouts are also able to slow the aging process.

Sprouts are good for beauty, of course, because of the content of vitamin E. This vitamin works to help rejuvenate and soften the skin, eliminate black spots on the face, cure acne, nourish hair, and slim the body.

Because of its base, sprouts are very well to keep the acidity of the stomach and facilitate digestion.

Sprouts can also be used as a fever-lowering, antihypertensive, energy increase, and detoxification.

For patients with uric acid, you should be careful to consume sprouts because it came from beans that could raise uric acid level.
